So it is over a year later but I thought I should post up our own rainy wedding photos…
It was when so many of our most favourite people in the world came from all over the world to our most favourite place in the world – North Stradbroke Island – to be with us as Stu and I celebrated getting married.
It had been absolutely pouring down in the the days/weeks… I think even months leading up and I had been onto the weather reporter at work (I worked for the Courier Mail at the time)
“Brian, is it going to rain on my wedding”
“No”, Brian said “Its not going to rain”
I believed you Brian
And sure enough… it was raining as hard as it can rain when I woke up at 5.30am (Yes I was to have a 10.30am beach ceremony and then a picnic lunch reception- Mother nature had other plans)
But it was fine… everything had to be moved and re jigged but everyone handled it beautifully.
I turned up with crazy frizzy rain hair, but luckily my hairdresser was there to do her magic.
And the lawn games were more like pool games but it was ok… everyone had a great time and we were able to sneak out between the torrential down pours and get some photos
We are so lucky to have met so many talented people throughout our travels (Plus our families are pretty awesome as well)
We had six photographers (yes… 6) –Greavesy, Lachie, Luke H, Stu, Megsie and Nk (it was amazing to get an insight to what someone else would do, I hope that the people whose weddings we photograph get to feel even half as much as what we felt looking through the images that these guys gave to us) – thanks for the inspiration guys.Love your work
Donna and her fantastic team at Stradbroke Island Events for the styling and setup (all with last minute ‘rain’ changes) Naomi and the crew from Allure (what would we have done without you), Mark, Casey and the fabulous food crew… people are still talking about the spread you put on, Kobe – you are the best hairdresser I have ever had, all Stu’s boys for their support, Amber and her handmade jewellery, Tammy you are a star at everything you put your hand too and the flowers are just another you excelled in,
Aimee and Astrid for doing all those water bottle labels, Ben Cusack for his awesome Ukelele skills, Cathie&Drew for all their help over the week, the boys and girls for all your help setting up (and breaking down), organising, lifting and looking after us,
Sheryl was our incredible celebrant (even with a forgotten reading!),
nictangobrotherdingo for getting the party started with some great music.
Mat – everyone loved the invites, Emma, you made me look pretty plus everything else, Harold the iceman – you rock,
The Cottles- you practically helped us move house (yes that is a kitchen hutch getting rolled up the street!)
Colleen – one word… Pav, well actually two as she made the bunting out of our childhood handkerchiefs!,
And of course our parents – this would not have happened without them.
Here are a couple of images from the day – there were so many to choose from!…
