I met Dan on which was pretty much my first day on the job as a newspaper photographer, he was working for the competition, I unintentionally snaked him out of a front page pic and we have been best frenemies ever since.
We followed each other around the world having many adventures, including living in a two man tent together in a field behind a UK pub while waiting for word about upcoming jobs, standing outside in the snow in Slovenia getting drunk on mulled wine and declaring our plans to rule the world, running for our lives with our backpacks to catch a leaving train in Czeck Republic and oh so many more.
So when he announced his engagement to Laura, who he bought back to Australia from England with him, and they didn’t put up much of a fight when I told them we would be doing their wedding photos, we were delighted to be heading back to Western Australia for their Perth Hills winery wedding, and a reunion with old newspaper friends.
It was an incredible day, I ended up with a full face of makeup including massive eyelashes courtesy of Dan and Laura (and of course Charlie the dog, who was a huge part of the event) so I was feeling beautiful and we settled amongst the vines at Sittella Winery
These guys are a beautiful couple, who are doing great things, they are killing it in their careers (stop subbing this copy) and make the most of life – which we love and I cannot wait to see what other adventures they get up to.
