If you are after a location where everything is all done within a hop-skip and a jump from each other then choose a Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel wedding.

As soon as I started emailing with these guys I knew that they were going to be awesome, so laid-back and lovely we were super excited to be involved with their wedding from the beginning.

And what a fantastic day it was, they chose the Straddie pub for the reception and the getting ready spot for both of them as well as having the ceremony just a short walk to the beautiful Cylinder Beach location, the guests can park their car and then forget about it, everything is right there.

A Stradbroke Island marquee wedding is just what we all dream of  isn’t it.

Naomi and Tim did just that and it was really beautiful.

These guys and their crew were such fun to hang out with and Straddie once again, turned on the beauty for them.

Thanks for being a really awesome couple you two xx

It is true, the beach isn;t the only place on Straddie to get married, it is also possible to have a Stradbroke Island church wedding.

You will not meet a nicer couple then Shell and Damo, a teacher and a town planner who thought that moving town at the same time as counting down to a wedding, would be a good idea (why do so many people do majoy life changes when planning a wedding, you people are crazy… oh oops, we moved to Straddie the same week as our wedding)

Which also coincided with the festive season (yep, less then a week before Christmas) and boy was it hot and sticky, but also full of amazing light, and laughter and home made wedding beer/cider/gingerbeer (it is true, and I can vouch for it) and was a pleasure to be involved in.

Well done to the crew who were involved and who helped make it amazing Planning and Styling Stradbroke Island Events

Tess and Danny | Stradbroke Island Amity Point wedding

simmsquinn Straddie Wedding

Tess and Danny managed to organise their Amity Point wedding from their home in Melbourne in record time.

The ceremony and reception was a Willo’s, which is a very cool little beach shack right on the beach, literally, right on the beach, it is such a great spot for an intimate little wedding (Get in touch with Straddie Sales and Rental if you want some info)

Both Tess and Danny are both hospitality professionals living in Melbourne so it explains a little bit about just how fantastic and fun their guests were, plus I don;t think I have seen such a well stocked bar, wowza.

Rain threatened all day and we managed to get through the ceremony and some photos but shortly afterwards is absolutely bucketed down and everything was moved undercover (which made for a cosy afternoon)

Not long afterwards the power went off for 7 hours, yes thats right, but these guys made the most of it with one of the guests, an opera singer, providing some entertainment, the caterers were innovative in how they created the food and Donna from Stradbroke Island Events dropped off a generator so at least there was some lights and music.

Even with everything that went wrong, this wedding still freakin’ went off. Oh man it was fun, just how a wedding on the beach in the rain ought to be.

Lee and Jon | Sunshine Coast backyard wedding

We love a Sunshine Coast backyard wedding

We met up with Lee again for dinner at our friend Kym’s house, Lee had just moved to Queensland from Mildura, she had started seeing a guy and was smitten.

They had met on a Valentines Day blind date

She said that he had told her that he was the drummer for a certain Brisbane band, we were like Yeah, sure he is. But she replied, Yeah, I think he actually is.

So when she asked us to shoot their intimate, Sunshine Coast backyard wedding, we were delighted.

It was simple and beautiful, they got ready together in their own house with their gorgeous little girl. The ceremony across the road, at the end of a sandy path, overlooking the beach and then the reception back at their beautiful seaside home.

Stacey and Scott | Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding

Oh, you should see this place, beautiful Yandina Station is pretty much the perfect barn location for a Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding.

We were so excited when Stacey and Scott got in touch with us and told us that they wanted us to shoot their big day.

It has to be said, I am a country girl at heart and a country wedding, set in an old barn on a working station is really thrilling to me.

And these guys were great, there was no detail not covered, the place looked beautiful, from the gold silverwear, to the amazing flowers and all of those rustic bits and pieces which pull it all together beautifully.

These guys were great fun, even a little bit of rain during the portraits with the bridal party did not deter them, infact they embraced it, our type of adventure couple.

Keep up to date with what we are doing on Facebook
