Becoming wedding photographers on Straddie wasn’t part of the original plan.

As photojournalists, we fell head over heels for the island and knew we had to make it our home. Picture this: us, sipping a beer at Cylinder Headland, the sun setting over that iconic view, deciding to dive into wedding photography. Back then, the island’s wedding scene was in its infancy—hardly any weddings were happening here—but we could see its potential and knew something special was brewing.

Fast forward over twelve years (since 2012), and we’ve been privileged not only to capture countless love stories in paradise but also to be part of something bigger. Watching the island’s wedding industry grow from a fledgling idea into a thriving part of the local economy is something we’re incredibly proud of. To have contributed to that growth and to have formed lifelong friendships with other industry colleagues and the incredible people we’ve met along the way is a gift we’ll always cherish.

Now, it’s time for a new chapter. We’re traveling, heading back to our roots in storytelling and media, focusing on documentaries and news. But Straddie will always be in our hearts. We still own our home there and plan to return every October to shoot weddings and celebrate all things Straddie.
